Pre heat oven to 375
1 Loaf of your favorite bread
5-6 C Chicken Broth or Stock (I always use stock for Dressing)
Salt and Pepper
3 eggs, whisk together
1/2 t Sage
2 Sticks Celery, Diced
1 Large Onion, Diced
Heart, Gizzard and Liver-Ground or chopped very fine
Bake in Buttered Dish for 45 Minutes
Tear bread into small pieces early in the morning and let sit out to dry a little
Dice celery and onion and sautee in butter till almost tender, let fully cool
Combine all ingredients thoroughly. Place in buttered dish and bake as directed.
If you prefer yours more Herb loaded feel free to experiment. Several years I have added roasted chestnuts to my Dressing and it was really tasty.
