Mighty Irish Poutine
Appetizer: Fried Potato wedges, Guinness braised short ribs topped with cheddar jack cheese and a Dubliner Cheese Sauce topped with cracked black peppercorns and drizzled with a Horseradish Aoli. This dish was so tender and flavorful with melded flavors and a slight pop of horseradish. If you like it spicier, just ask and your server will be happy to bring some pure horseradish to add more of a pop!
Braised Pork Belly: Magner's Cider slow braised Pork Belly and Natural AuJus. Served with cocannon croquettes, grilled asparagus and topped with red onion Jam This combination of flavors was taste bud tingling!
North Atlantic Salmon
Grilled Salmon with Colcannon Croquettes, scallion oil and topped the charred Tomato and Fennel Relish
I adore Salmon when cooked properly and this one was. Not too dry or oily and my thought is you can't go wrong with charred Tomato and Fennel. A very light and clean tasting dish, yet still loaded with flavor!
I also tried a variety of other items, such as the Guinness based French Onion Soup and Perfectly prepared Shephard's Pie. You simply have to try their house cured Atlantic Salmon appetizer! It is served in a build your own appetizer style with dark rye mini loaf, capers, eggs, shallots and creme fraiche. Check out the Shady Lady Cocktail for a fun, not too sweet drink. The Corned Beef and Cabbage is some of the best we have tasted. It is served with a sauce (we suspected had dijon, horseradish cream and another ingredient that the chef wouldn't disclose), it could not have been better. I cannot forget about the Irish Car Bomb Cake. It reminded me of Mom's fudge, but better because Guinness is so good.
Any of this food is delicious paired with some of the Irish classic Beers. Imagine a pint of Guinness with your Chocolate dessert. Too Smooth!
Next time I go back to T.J. Maloney's, I must try their Seafood Stew with Mussels, Shrimp and Cod.
