Every once in a while, my dish machine doesn't smell clean. After running an empty detergent cycle, it still smelled the same. The only lemon I had on hand (I know hard to believe, but true) was an old lemon container of Countrytyme Lemonade with a little left in the bottom. So, I thought what the heck! I dumped it into the detergent slot. I was shocked when it actually worked. A week later, it still smells so much fresher! If you have fresh lemon, just place 1/2 of a fresh cut lemon into silverware basket.
Love coffee? Did you know lime builds up in your coffee maker? Eventually, this causes the lines to clog. Simply run through a teaspoon of lemon juice, a teaspoon of vinegar and a teaspoon of salt. This will help clean your pots as well. I usually run through three full pots of water afterward and let dry.
Some people really like the crud that develops on their coffee pot. I prefer to use some crushed ice, salt, and lemon juice. Do a little dance with the coffee pot, swirling vigorously and watch your pots sparkle again! This also works well for teapots.
Do you have a pan that has a burned crud? Well, use a Vinegar, Baking Soda and Water slurry. Let it soak overnight and clean in the morning!
Copper pan cleaners can be very harsh! Sprinkle a teaspoon of regular salt into a cup of ketchup and plaster onto the copper portion of your pan. The acids and salt will eat up all of that tarnish. Let soak for at least 30 minutes and wipe clean.
Is your Microwave impossible? Take a microwave safe bowl and pour in a couple Tablespoons of lemon juice. Heat for 3 to 5 minutes. Use a sponge to wipe away the crud. Use baking soda and water to clean the exterior, followed by some vinegar water.
Is your garbage disposal smelly, dull and greasy? Sprinkle a couple Tablespoons of Baking Soda and pour over some vinegar. Let it bubble up and soak for about 10 minutes. Run hot water and disposal for a couple of minutes, then throw in some Ice Cubes. Problems solved! I also Love the smell of citrus and will sometimes throw in a few lemon or orange rinds to freshen the entire kitchen.
Your kitchen is perfectly clean and ready for your dinner party. Then you notice nasty water spots all over your faucets. Just grab some wax paper and rub to remove. Easy and painless.
Grease spill in the kitchen? Try using regular table salt to soak up the mess. Easily wipes up with a paper towel.
Stuck on Stove? No problem, just rub a little car wax and let sit for a minute. Wipes off so easy and ready to clean. One time I even used a little corn oil. It makes cleaning your stove so much easier!
Can't get rid of that Funky smell in that beautiful glass jar you would like to reuse? Try using a teaspoon of mustard powder in your wash water and a small glass brush.
Are you looking for a better smelling freezer and fridge? Have you already tried baking soda? Well, try dampening your cloth with warm water and sprinkle on Vanilla Extract.
